It was performed in a dance event organized by the <em> Confederaci\u00f3 Sardanista de Catalunya<\/em> as part of the 123rd anniversary of the Tibidabo amusement park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More than 500 sardana dancers were present, listening and dancing to my sardana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/jancorbero.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/aerea-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-336\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jancorbero.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/aerea-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/jancorbero.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/aerea-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/jancorbero.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/aerea-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/jancorbero.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/aerea-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/jancorbero.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/aerea-18x10.jpg 18w, https:\/\/jancorbero.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/aerea.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The sardana M\u00e9s enll\u00e0 de la S\u00e9nia<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It is my first sardana and composition for a cobla.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I'm not very familiar with this world, and in fact, I can barely dance sardanes. But as a Catalan and a composer, I've always been very interested in music for cobla. It's an instrumental ensemble with a unique timbre and many possibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unfortunately, throughout my musical training, I haven't studied it, as if being a traditional music ensemble made it less important. During my Bachelor's degree in composition, I studied instrumentation and orchestration, but we never covered the cobla or its instruments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So I had to learn from scratch: I read some instrumentation manuals, analyzed some sardanas, asked musicians, and searched for information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I composed a traditional sardana with a personal touch. This piece maintains the structure and character of the genre but with some influences from American music.
